Introducing the Tranquil BTE. It's the latest addition to General Hearing’s line of quality tinnitus sound generators.
Sound generators are hearing aid-like devices that produce a soft, soothing noise similar to the sound from a showerhead, fountain or gently falling rain. The added sound helps distract the brain’s focus from the debilitating ringing, whistling or roaring noise caused by tinnitus. Imagine a candle glowing in a darkened room and how focused you would be on that single source of light. But when additional sources of light are introduced, the candle becomes far less noticeable.
Tranquil BTE sound generators are integral pieces of tinnitus management programs that have helped over 80% of participating tinnitus sufferers report a successful conclusion to their treatment.
Tranquil – an integral part of tinnitus management
The Tranquil BTE provides the same broadband noise generating capabilities as our in-the-ear models(see our tinnitus treatment section), for individuals who prefer a behind-the-ear unit.Tranquil BTE features a free-field or non-occluding earmold, which leaves the lower portion of the ear canal open to receive surrounding sounds in a normal manner. The earmold is manufactured from flexible, hypoallergenic medical grade silicone that easily fits most ears and is comfortable enough to wear throughout the day.
A built-in gain control trimmer lets the tinnitus management professional adjust the Tranquil BTE’s overall output to accommodate individuals with normal to mild/moderate hearing loss. A 13A battery assures long operating life which can be further extended by switching the unit off when not in use.
